I’m afraid of clowns too. I think it’s because when I was a kid, a clown killed my dad.

Sorry Dave, but I have to throw it out there:
1) You are the ugliest clown I’ve ever seen. White face paint is not meant for men with fluffy, non-conditioned beards. I wasn’t afraid of clowns before… but now I am.
2) I can’t believe you got away with giving a small baby (opposed to a “large” baby? I’ll call myself out) a balloon shaped as a penis. Your pedophiliffic attempt of calling it a giraffe is piss poor. (and yes I just made up a word, and it was good)

Yeah – I think the drunken clown pics are pretty much the best things ever. I am actually rooting for the next 30+ days to be just different things as a sad, drunken clown.

I think the downfall of the clowns is really more the makeup color palette they’re working with than anything else. Green for the eyes and red for the mouth? Nothing says scary to little kids like a face that looks like a Mexican flag. Know how I know this for a fact? Tim Curry from the movie IT – no green eye makeup and totally not scary in the slightest. I definitely didn’t have nightmares until I was 25 about clowns in the gutters from that movie at all.

Clown. Out.

You looked so sad and dejected sitting on the bench. I’m glad the evening turned out positively and everyone was happy at the end – especially the birthday girl and Betsy.
I thought you looked cute but of course I’m prejudiced! Nice job on the makeup!
Forgot all about the clowns Lauren had in her room> Don’t dress up as a nutcracker!

As the father of the Child That is Unafraid of Clowns (Yet) I just wanted to say thank you for the experience, and great blog post. Next time Jude is approached by a scary clown, I hope that he remembers last night–remembers that he made it through the evening completely unscathed and with his soul intact.

Also, the placement of the balloon in the link to the YouTube video is unfortunate, to say the least.

I love having a clown in attendance and, more importantnly, relieved that there weren’t any mimes, which by far surpass clowns in their creepiness. Good work David!
